The Role:

As part of the manufacturing Human Resources team you will help us attract, retain and develop top talent to deliver our bold vision and future as an industry leader. We are seeking change agents, talent strategists, culture architects, and employee advocates who embrace each challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate human resources effectiveness and business partnership to enable our teams to deliver to perform at their very best.

This role reports to an Employee Relations Manager. You will work directly with senior leadership to develop and direct a Human Resources portfolio of services that enables delivery of the organization's goals and fosters a positive work environment. You will partner with Employee Relations leadership and peers to design and deliver solutions to optimize talent and the employee experience in your organization.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Leverages knowledge of the business to develop rapport and relationships within their customer group to identify solutions 
  • Coaches, councils, and educates business partners at all levels on employee relations policies, processes, and strategies throughout the both the hourly and salary employee life cycles
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive hourly and salary employee experience through proactive initiatives based on feedback through employee opinion surveys, suggestions, and open-door policies
  • Ensures compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, company policies and best practices 
  • Preforms full-cycle internal and external recruitment activities
  • Supports payroll functions 
  • Collaborates closely with stakeholders to accurately interpret and administer the collective agreement
  • Resolves hourly and salary employee issues, such as conflicts, disputes, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fairness, consistency, and timeliness
  • Supports investigations, ensuring that all disciplinary issues, grievances, and arbitration matters are handled in a timely and effective manner
  • Actively participates in collective bargaining process and negotiations as needed
  • Executes attendance tracking processes including attendance hearings, updating system codes, vacation usage, and running necessary reports. Applies knowledge of leaves of absences policies, Employment Standards Act and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
  • Assists in the facilitation of accommodation process for employees on behalf of the company
  • Monitors and administers return to work processes
Qualifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained.  If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
  • Three (3) + years of experience in a Human Resources role.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Master's degree in human resources, organizational development or any other related discipline
  • Three (3) + years of experience in Human Resources role in manufacturing 
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • CHRP/CHRL Professional Human Resources Certification.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience conducting investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with all employees in the organization.
  • Proven problem-solving skills using analytics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our team.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $74,000 - $124,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
