Home to a historic 18-hole Championship golf course that hosted the 1945 Canadian Open, Thornhill is truly a club for all seasons. Position Overview

We're looking for a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Personal Training Specialist to join our team our team of trainers, strength coaches and wellness professionals. The ideal candidate will have the drive to build and maintain a strong client base, assist with member assessments, and contribute to the ongoing growth of our personal training program. This role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with a professional and service-oriented approach.

Candidates with experience in performance or sport-specific training—particularly in golf, curling or tennis—will be considered strong assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional member service and personal attention to both new and existing clients
  • Build and maintain a personal training roster through assessments, floor coaching, and orientations
  • Conduct consultations and track client progress using fitness assessments and measurements
  • Design and deliver individualized training programs based on client goals
  • Motivate members, offering education and encouragement to help them achieve results
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and positive club environment
  • Work effectively with all age groups (12–90+)

Qualifications

  • Recognized Personal Training Certification (CPTN, CanFitPro, NASM, ACE, etc.)
  • Previous fitness industry experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of exercise technique, biomechanics, and program design
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and flexible with scheduling
  • Understanding of sport performance training principles and macro program design is an asset

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Part-time and full-time opportunities available
  • Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be asked of you by the client(s)

COMPENSATION:

  • Competitive commission split for personal training
  • Floor coaching and/or retainer options negotiable
  • Group and specialty classes paid per class
