Summary

Northern Vision Development (NVD) is a Yukon-based hospitality company with a portfolio of restaurants that each have their own vibe and loyal following - Carved, Belly of the Bison, and the Gold Pan Saloon in Whitehorse; the Gold Panner Restaurant in Carmacks; and the Bonanza Dining Room and Sourdough Saloon in Dawson City.

We're hiring an Executive Chef to raise the bar across our restaurant division. This is a culinary leadership role where you'll set the culinary vision, inspire and develop kitchen leaders, and bring big ideas to life - while putting the standards and discipline in place that make great food consistent, safe, and profitable across every location.

What Does Your Success Look Like?

• Food is consistently excellent and on-brand across all outlets - recipes, plating, portions, prep standards, and execution are reliable site to site. Food quality and execution are strong enough that travellers recommend us and locals return.
• Menus are seasonal, costed, and executable - changes roll out smoothly with testing, specs, training, and readiness checks.
• Kitchens are inspection-ready and safe - food safety, sanitation routines, and allergen controls are consistent and enforced.
• Food cost and waste are controlled without compromising quality - items are properly costed, portions are tight, inventory is disciplined, and variance is addressed quickly.
• Banquet and catering food is consistently high quality, on time, and well-coordinated across venues—clients and guests have a strong experience, and kitchens aren't scrambling to execute.
• Kitchen teams are strong and steady - staff are coached, expectations are clear, training is consistent, and performance is managed in a fair, and direct way.
• Strong cross-team partnership: you work shoulder-to-shoulder with Operations, FOH leaders, Sales, and Banquets so menu changes, issues, service, and feedback are handled as one team.

What You Bring to The Role

• Considerable culinary experience in high-volume restaurants and/or multi-outlet hospitality.
• Considerable senior kitchen leadership experience.
• Red Seal Certification (or equivalent) is an asset.
• Strong menu development capability (including costing, specs, allergens, and rollout planning).
• Leadership skills to coach, hold people accountable, and keep teams steady during service.
• Financially disciplined: ability to manage food cost, waste, inventory, and BOH labour without compromising quality or guest experience.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong collaborator who builds trust and alignment across departments.
• A systems mindset to build routines, standards, and discipline that improve execution and builds reliable outcomes.

Job requirements: Travel to Dawson City and Carmacks.

Conditions of Employment: class 5 driver's license, WHMIS, First Aid (can be obtained post-hire)
