Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Care Manager coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care to the residents to ensure resident-focused care is achieved in the home, in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, or in the absence of the Executive Director, this position will assume responsibility for the care and well-being of residents in the home. This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising others who deliver direct resident care: RNs, LPNs, and Health Care Aides. This position may involve direct resident care, and the nurse at this level will also have several supervisory responsibilities.

WHAT YOU BRING

You are a community minded change leader. You bring to the role:
- Graduation from a recognized program for Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses. Current practicing registration with the BCCNM.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in complex care with comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques as they relate to long term care.
- Maturity and good physical and mental health, empathy, patience and tact are important qualities to possess.
- Seeks out opportunities to maintain competency and continued learning.
- Post RN/RPN education in Gerontology and three years relevant experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively and build effective work relationships with residents, clients, families, volunteers, staff, senior executives, and external agencies
- Public speaking acumen is an asset
- A strong working knowledge of legislation, regulations, and collective agreements
- Working knowledge of information management systems including common industry software
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement necessary changes
- A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
