Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to join our team at Scarpetta Cucina Italiana. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience, including fine dining and catering. Italian cooking knowledge a must with a strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and team leadership. The Chef de Partie will play a vital role in menu execution, inventory control, and maintaining a seamless kitchen operation.

Minimum 5 years experience working with pans in fast paced kitchen.

Starting hourly wage is $20.00/ hour and will increase depending on experience and skill level in kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with the head chef and other team members during service periods to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
  • Manage shift operations, including delegating tasks, monitoring productivity, and resolving any issues that arise during service.
  • Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized menus for dietary restrictions or specific client requests.
  • Oversee food production for banquets, catering events, and special functions with attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven minimum 5 years experience in fine dining establishments, catering, or banquet settings with strong culinary skills.
  • Supervising or team management experience within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Strong at daily kitchen prep.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in food preparation, menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse culinary team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and quality control.
  • Experience in restaurant management or food service management is advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Culinary education or equivalent professional training preferred; hospitality or food industry background is beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or special events if required.
