TRU is seeking an SEO Team Lead . We have one (1) permanent full-time position available for an immediate start. This position reports to the Chief Data Officer or his delegate.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced SEO Team Lead to oversee the execution of SEO strategies and manage a team of SEO specialists to deliver optimal results for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for leading SEO campaigns, ensuring effective implementation of strategies, and interacting directly with clients to provide valuable insights and regular updates. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical SEO expertise and strong team management skills.
This role is hybrid, providing some flexibility to work from home. However, candidates must reside in Ontario and be prepared to attend in-person client or team meetings as required. Occasional travel to events, workshops, or client engagements may also be necessary.
Responsibilities:
1. SEO Strategy Development & Execution:
- Lead the development and execution of SEO strategies to drive organic growth for clients.
- Conduct in-depth website audits and identify areas for improvement across content, site architecture, and on-page/off-page optimization.
- Oversee keyword research, competitor analysis, and SEO performance tracking to develop actionable insights.
- Ensure alignment between client goals and SEO strategies to enhance visibility, traffic, and conversions.
2. Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SEO specialists, ensuring they are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Provide training and continuous learning opportunities to team members to stay ahead of the latest SEO trends and algorithm updates.
- Monitor team performance, conduct regular feedback sessions, and help with professional development.
3. Client Interaction & Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding SEO-related matters.
- Present SEO reports and results to clients, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Manage client expectations, ensuring SEO goals and timelines are met consistently.
- Understand clients' business goals and work with them to adapt SEO strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by offering proactive suggestions and addressing their concerns.
4. Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Track and report key SEO metrics (organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, etc.) using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of SEO strategies and implement improvements based on findings.
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly reports to clients, showcasing progress, wins, and areas of improvement.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on SEO experience with at least 2 years in a team lead or management position.
- SEO Expertise: Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO. In-depth knowledge of Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz).
- Client Management: Proven ability to interact directly with clients, manage relationships, and understand client needs and goals.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing SEO teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex SEO concepts in an easy-to understand manner.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose SEO issues and implement effective solutions.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple SEO projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how these technologies impact SEO.
