Overview

McKinnon & Germann Inc. is a small public practice firm located in Duncan, B.C. on beautiful Vancouver Island. We are seeing an experienced accountant to join our team with a possible start date of mid-January 2026 .

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll
  • Prepare working paper files for compilation engagements
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Prepare tax returns (corporate, personal, trust and GST
  • Communicate effectively with clients and CRA
  • Perform other tasks as required

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years accounting and tax experience. Experience in a public practice setting is considered an asset. CPA designation or a student near completion is preferred.
  • Must have a string working knowledge of accounting and tax software . Experience with Sage, Quickbooks, Caseware/Caseview and Cantax is considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team

Salary will be tied to experience and education
