Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Box Office Attendant to join our team. This role is responsible for selling tickets to events, processing ticketing orders, and providing exceptional service to patrons. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Please note that this is a part-time position that consists of only 1–2 weekday daytime shifts per week available. This role is ideal for candidates seeking minimal hours and who have flexible availability.
Hours of work include weekday daytime hours, with evenings and weekends coverage as needed up to 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
• Enter information accurately and quickly into computerized ticketing database, process ticket orders and issue tickets in person and occasionally by telephone
• Process ticketing orders accurately using our ticketing system
• Provide information about events, seating options, pricing, and venue policies
• Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment securely and efficiently
• Resolve customer inquiries and issues with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist with will-call and guest list management on event days
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and reconcile sales at the end of shifts
• Receive payment by cash, cheque, credit card and debit
• Issue receipts, refunds or change to customer accounts
• Assist customers with mobile ticket issues
• Resolve ticket disputes when possible or refer to supervisor as appropriate
• Support other box office and administrative tasks as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Education
Minimum high school Grade 12 education.
Experience
Minimum 1 month cash handling experience. Previous experience in a box office, retail or customer service role is preferred.
Additional Requirements: Hours of work include limited day time hours, more evenings and weekends as required up to 24 hours per week. Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with ticketing software and basic computer applications.
• Ability to handle cash and perform basic math functions.
• Able to deal with customers tactfully and effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
• Have the ability to support and project values compatible to the organization and participate as an effective team member
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and answer questions in a timely and accurate fashion
• Proficient on a computer
• Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
