Safety Coordinator Duties

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with Site Management to develop safety plans and procedures specific to each project.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform First Aid duties and reporting
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits
  • Ensure safety compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Analyze safety data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide advice and guidance on safety issues
  • Investigation and report on accidents and incidents
  • Conduct safety audits and track safety metrics to evaluate safety performance.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Update safety records and maintain safety-related documentation.
  • Train staff in safety procedures and practices
  • Develop and deliver safety orientation programs
  • Ensure safety equipment is maintained and used correctly
  • Monitor safety performance

Safety Coordinator Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of legal regulations and standards related to workplace safety
  • Ability to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Capacity to evaluate safety risks and develop strategies to address them
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments

Safety Coordinator Requirements

  • A Construction safety officer certificate, or NCSO designation,
  • Advanced First Aid Certification
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Experience in safety management and safety program administration
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations and other relevant safety standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to lead safety meetings and training

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Perferred Experience

Previous safety coordination experience on high-rise or multi-storey construction projects is strongly preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
