About Brique par brique:
Brique par brique is a Montréal-based nonprofit founded in 2016 by community organizers to address the need for affordable housing in the gentrifying and multicultural Parc-Extension neighborhood. With a focus on social justice, the organization goes beyond housing to foster solidarity and support diverse low-income residents, particularly newcomers and immigrants, through its cultural center and community-driven initiatives. Brique par brique also engages in research and development projects aimed at empowering residents and addressing systemic barriers.
Role Overview:
Brique par Brique is seeking an experienced
Communications Manager
to effectively execute communication strategies that amplify our mission of providing affordable housing and fostering community development in Parc-Extension and beyond. The ideal candidate will excel at creating engaging, accessible, and multilingual content, managing digital platforms, and building connections with diverse audiences. This role also involves creating content, managing video production, utilizing strong design and visual skills, and fluently communicating in French and English to engage a multilingual community. Beyond ensuring the visibility of Brique par brique's activities and initiatives, the Communications Manager will be expected to provide insight and direction for emergent communications strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement
- Work closely with residents, partners, and stakeholders to promote events and initiatives that strengthen community connections.
- Act as a liaison between Brique par Brique and local organizations to align communication efforts with community needs.
- Adapt communication strategies based on feedback and data to ensure communications are reaching key audience members.
- Develop meaningful strategic partnerships that amplify the impact of Brique par brique's projects and communications campaigns
Content Creation and Management
- Produce written, visual, and multimedia content for social media, newsletters, press releases, and the website, ensuring messaging is clear, inclusive, and relevant to diverse audiences.
- Coordinate video production, from scripting to coordinating shoots, to highlight Brique par Brique's impact.
- Ensure content is accessible in multiple languages, reflecting the linguistic diversity of the Parc-Extension community.
Digital and Social Media Engagement
- Manage and grow social media presence by creating, scheduling, and responding to posts across platforms.
- Utilize digital marketing tools like Mailchimp to create and distribute newsletters and updates.
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to optimize reach and impact.
- Regularly update and maintain the website, ensuring content is accurate, visually engaging, and aligned with current programs and events.
Project Coordination
- Propose and implement communication strategies for Brique par brique's projects and programs that align with the strategic priorities of partners and stakeholders
- Coordinate with contractors, communications interns, and external partners to produce and disseminate content efficiently and on schedule.
- Assign, manage, and track project tasks to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery.
Qualifications:
Required
:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit outreach
- Experience in content creation, with demonstrated video production experience, as well as written and visual content.
- Fluency in both spoken and written French and English, with exceptional storytelling and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while managing multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and digital tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Meta business suite).
- Ability to analyze data and adapt strategies to optimize outcomes.
Preferred
:
- Familiarity with Montreal cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Experience in community and/or housing sectors.
- Experience working with Airtable or other data management / CRMs tools.
- Knowledge of website management tools such as Squarespace.
