We are growing and looking for a top-notch, fully qualified Lead Hand with expert drywall taping and painting skills, strong jobsite leadership ability, and finish carpentry experience as a valuable asset.

This role is for a professional who can lead by example, keep sites organized, and consistently deliver clean, high-end finishes without constant supervision.

Pay Structure

Employees:

• $33.00 – $34.93/hr to start
• + 9.6% vacation pay on every cheque

Subcontractors:

• $45.00+/hr (based on experience & leadership)

Lead Hand Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level drywall taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing
• Complete professional residential painting (walls, ceilings, trim, doors)
• Support and perform finish carpentry as needed (baseboards, casings, doors, small trim work)
• Act as the working Lead Hand — hands-on while guiding labourers and helpers
• Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and correctly
• Review scopes and plans to ensure work is executed accurately
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times
• Inspect work quality and correct deficiencies immediately
• Coordinate sequencing with other trades when required
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and the office team
• Track materials, progress, and photos using CompanyCam and Jobber
• Lead by example with professionalism, punctuality, and workmanship standards

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years experience in residential drywall, taping, and painting
• Proven experience acting as a Lead Hand or senior tradesperson
• Ability to consistently deliver Level 4–5 finishes
• Strong knowledge of surface prep, coatings, and finishing standards
• Ability to read plans, scopes, and understand job sequencing
• Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Clear, professional English communication (required)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license, reliable vehicle, and basic tools

Assets That Set You Apart

• Finish carpentry experience (trim, doors, baseboards, casings)
• Journeyperson Carpenter or equivalent experience
• Experience with renovation software (Jobber, CompanyCam, or similar)
• Safety certifications and current First Aid
