Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Taper/Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish that meets project specifications. Your expertise will help transform raw construction materials into polished walls and ceilings, contributing to the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of our projects. Responsibilities

  • Apply joint compound (mud) to drywall seams, screw holes, and surface imperfections with precision and efficiency
  • Sand and smooth finished surfaces to create an even, flawless appearance suitable for painting or wallpapering
  • Install drywall panels, including hanging and securing sheets according to schematics and blueprints
  • Tape joints and corners to reinforce seams and prevent cracking over time
  • Use hand tools and power tools such as taping knives, sanders, and sprayers to achieve optimal results
  • Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of drywall with framing, trim carpentry, and other finishes
  • Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of debris and organizing tools and materials

Requirements

  • Proven experience in drywall finishing, taping, or related construction roles with site experience in commercial or residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute finishing tasks
  • Familiarity with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, door hanging, flooring installation, tile laying, and other related skills preferred
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively on construction sites
  • Knowledge of water damage restoration, mold remediation, restoration industry practices is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety standards
