Position Summary
As a Lean Coordinator for Parker Canada Division, you will lead the division's lean deployment and serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement across all sites, functions, and value streams. As an acting partner for plant leadership, you will help to identify, prioritize, and execute lean projects using A3 thinking, value stream management, and data-driven metrics with the purpose of aligning the division's lean roadmap to The Win Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate division/site steering committees and starpoint councils; ensure cadence, rigor, and alignment to corporate requirements.
- Train, coach, and mentor associates and leaders at all levels on Lean/PLS principles, tools, and behaviors (e.g., 5S, standard work, VSM, kaizen, problem solving).
- Plan, facilitate, and follow through on kaizen/HPT events, including charters, pre-work/data collection, implementation, and sustainment.
- Build current- and future-state value stream maps and lead execution of improvement plans with clear owners, timelines, and benefit targets.
- Implement and audit daily management systems: tiered meetings, visual management, andon/escalation, layered process audits, and process confirmations.
- Design and optimize pull systems and material flow (PFEP, point-of-use storage, supermarkets, Kanban sizing, heijunka/level loading).
- Drive stability and flow improvements: takt/cycle time analysis, standardized work, line balancing, and SMED/changeover reduction.
- Partner with Quality to integrate built-in quality (poka‑yoke, error-proofing, SPC) and with EHS to ensure safe, ergonomic work methods.
- Coordinate cross-functional and, where applicable, supplier/logistics CI initiatives to improve end-to-end value streams.
- Lead change management and communications: stakeholder engagement, recognition programs, best-practice sharing.
- Standardize and control documentation for processes and standard work; maintain PLS playbooks and training materials.
- Conduct regular gemba walks and audits to assess maturity, sustainment, and risk; implement countermeasures where gaps exist.
- Leverage available digital tools to visualize flow and performance; support simple dashboarding where appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering preferred, but open to candidates with relevant work experience.
- Ability to articulate the desired state, purpose and value of lean and constantly moving in the direction of waste elimination.
- One to three years of manufacturing experience demonstrating a self-starting and hands-on quality.
- A good understanding of mfg industry Lean principles (or willing to learn).
- Understanding of financial measurements and goals and has good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.
- Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division.
