Who We Are:
At Spur Construction, we are a versatile firm specializing in design/build, development, project management, and general contracting across western and northern Canada. Our expertise spans civil, hospitality, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and multi-family construction, with a strong track record in handling projects in remote areas with complex logistics
Our company culture is defined by creativity, solution orientation, and a "can do" attitude.
We work in First Nations communities and on traditional territories throughout western and northern Canada. Based on the traditional lands of the Ktunaxa Nation, we recognize reconciliation as an ongoing commitment that requires continuous learning and respectful engagement in all communities where we work.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
A truck driver plays a crucial role in delivering our commitments to customers. The success of our brand and the quality of the customer experience depend on the effective
performance of this position's duties.
Your day-to-day
- Start with the team. Daily pre-job meetings with superintendents and foremen keep you in the loop on project goals, priorities, and logistics.
- Hit the road. Transport materials, equipment, and supplies across varied terrain—remote sites, active construction zones, urban deliveries. Every route brings something different.
- Keep things rolling. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections (tires, brakes, lights, signals) and flag any mechanical issues before they become problems.
- Stay sharp on paperwork. Maintain accurate logbooks tracking cargo, hours of service, distance, and fuel consumption.
- Operate safely, always. Follow traffic laws, transportation regulations, weight limits, and company safety policies without exception. You set the standard.
- Champion safety culture. Model safe practices and encourage the same from coworkers, subcontractors, and everyone on site.
This is a general responsibilities list and does not include all responsibilities required for the position.
