Pruning Crew Leader + Sales/Estimating

Rayzor Edge Tree Service is expanding again—and we're building a dedicated pruning crew focused solely on high-quality residential pruning and tree health care. Our existing production crew continues to handle large removals and heavy work; this new division will concentrate on precision pruning, structure, aesthetics, safety, and long-term tree care.

We are seeking an experienced Pruning Crew Leader who wants to lead this specialized team, deliver exceptional workmanship, and also play a role in sales and estimating as the division continues to grow.

This role will lead our new pruning-focused crew—not removals—and help shape one of the most important growth areas of our company.

Key Responsibilities, Crew Leadership — Pruning Division

  • Lead and manage our dedicated pruning crew
  • Work alongside the team while setting pace, quality, and professionalism
  • Perform and oversee:
  • Structural pruning
  • Canopy thinning and reduction
  • Clearance pruning
  • Deadwood removal
  • Aesthetic shaping
  • Risk mitigation pruning
  • Ensure all work meets ISA , standards and Rayzor Edge quality expectations
  • Conduct daily safety meetings; enforce PPE and safe work practices
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and cared for
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience on every job

Support Team: You will have a competent secondary climber with ~2 years of climbing experience working under you.

Sales & Estimating Responsibilities

  • Attend customer consultations and site visits as required
  • Assess tree health, pruning needs, safety concerns, and job scope
  • Educate and communicate clearly with clients
  • Prepare quotes and estimates (training provided if needed)
  • Support follow-up communication to help secure work
  • Assist in building client relationships and repeat business

Sales experience is ideal—but if you're the right person with the right attitude, we will train you.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years professional tree care experience, strong pruning focus preferred
  • Strong climbing skills and canopy comfort level
  • Knowledge of proper pruning standards, tree biology & best practices
  • Leadership experience or strong leadership potential
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
  • Comfortable explaining work to homeowners
  • G License required; DZ is an asset
  • ISA Certification or tree-related education is an asset

Rewards

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with an excellent performance incentive/bonus structure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 – 50 per week
