Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the head chef, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service. The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and maintaining strict food safety standards, all while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Manage food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Support team management by training new staff, providing feedback, and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with restaurant policies, health regulations, and safety standards.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Serve as a leader during busy service hours, maintaining high standards of hospitality and service quality.

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting.
  • Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous restaurant management or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with food handling procedures and serving standards.
  • Experience working in a culinary setting that emphasizes teamwork, quality control, and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone passionate about culinary arts who thrives in leadership positions within the food industry.
