Location: Remote, Canada (B.C, Ontario, Alberta)

Term: 4 months

Start Date: Jan 5, 2026

Openings: 1

Hootsuite's developers would love to help Computer Science/Engineering Co-op students develop their technical skills and knowledge about people, processes, and technology by working with students over their co-op term. You'll pair with a mentor and work remotely alongside a passionate and egoless team, having fun building something bigger than themselves. Experience what it's like to make a difference in people's lives by building the products that our customers turn messages into meaningful relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work with mentors to learn the craft of Software Development
  • Collaborate in small teams to design, build, and ship high-quality software to Production
  • Participate in code reviews to continually improve your craft and approach to problem solving
  • Iterate in an agile fashion; creating hypotheses and testing them with incremental changes
  • Work-out-loud by sharing your work and experiences internally and with our community
  • You'll be working with our FE tech stack (TypeScript, Javascript, React, Redux, React Testing Library, Playwright, HTML/CSS)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Experience shipping code or a demonstrated interest in programming or technical skills
  • A demonstrated history of creative thinking and collaborative problem solving
  • A drive to complete things because you want to, not because you have to
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
  • Creativity and Innovation: seeks new and better ways of doing things, generates original and imaginative ideas, products, or solutions
  • Courage: steps up to address difficult issues, saying what needs to be said
  • Open Communication: clearly conveys thoughts, both written and verbally, listening attentively and asking questions for clarification and understanding

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Solution seeker: You're focused on tackling new challenges, solving problems, and moving the business forward—and you don't wait to be asked.
  • Lifelong learner: You have a growth mindset – you're here to learn, experiment, seek, apply, and provide feedback, share what works with your team, and move on from what doesn't.
  • Resilient adapter: In the face of change and challenges, you bring a thoughtful, calm approach and a focus on finding new opportunities.
  • Intentional collaborator. You build positive working relationships across the business, bringing people together to foster new opportunities and to facilitate the efficient flow of information.
  • Critical challenger: You have the trust in your team to ask difficult questions in order to get to the best end result.
  • Active communicator: You listen actively and communicate ideas and information clearly, inclusively, and proactively.
  • Integrated thinker: You look beyond your role and responsibilities to understand how your team's work drives broader organizational goals.
  • Accountable owner: You take pride in the work you're responsible for with a mindset of ultimate accountability and reliability for the outcomes.
  • Bar-raiser: You step up to help your team grow and succeed, even when that means going beyond what might be expected.
