Overview / Responsibilities

Bolen Engineering Inc. is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. Note that the successful canditate is required to be based in the East Kootenay region (Cranbrook, Fernie or Invermere preferred). Reporting to our Senior Structural Engineer, your primary responsibility will include structural design for a variety of structural engineering projects, field reviews, structural assessment reviews, and report preparation. Additional duties will include structural drafting and plan checking.

  • Take pride in accomplishing daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a Canadian accredited post secondary institution.
  • Current registration or eligibility of registration with EGBC as a professional engineer (P.Eng).
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with BC Building Code, CSA O86, CSA S16, CSA A23.3 and design processes for each.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CWC WoodWorks software, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural plans, structural engineering designs and field notes.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with RISA would be an asset.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit would be considered an asset.
