About The Role
This role is responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, support, and security of DMCL's IT infrastructure, including workstations, servers, networks, and cloud services, and plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, automation, and security of DMCL's IT environment. This role contributes to team and organization development by offering mentorship and expert technical guidance on complex issues. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Vancouver.

This role reports directly to the IT Systems Manager.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of customer service excellence
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff by handling escalated IT tickets/supports issues
  • Diagnose and solve incidents or technical problems through root cause analysis and remediation of application issues; Manage problem escalation and solution tracking
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of preventive security measures to reduce future risk and strengthen incident response
  • Participate in post-incident reviews to analyze root causes and document lessons identified
  • Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Install, update, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows servers and infrastructure applications and performance using automation where possible
  • Create, deploy, and manage Intune packages and policies for Windows devices
  • Manage, administer, and monitor the network topology, security, and performance for hybrid server connectivity using Fortinet tools as well as other cloud services
  • Document and maintain IT procedures and user facing documentation
  • Develop scripts and workflows to automate routine IT operations and business needs
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, and Entra ID (Azure AD), including managing identity governance and secure Conditional Access policies
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure upgrade and migration projects
  • Other duties as required to support IT operations and business needs

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • At least five years of experience as a systems administrator or similar role
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points, management consoles, or equivalent products
  • Experience with hybrid Windows server administration, Entra, Azure, Active Directory, and PowerShell automation
  • Experience with Intune package creation and deployment, and Intune workstation administration
  • Experience with IT project planning or coordination for up to enterprise facing infrastructure and support projects
  • Experience documenting technical procedures for internal use or training purposes
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud computing, Microsoft 365, and Azure infrastructure
  • Certification in Fortinet, Microsoft, or other relevant technologies is an asset
  • Experience with cloud security and identity management
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code, CLI, or automation tools is an asset
  • Expertise in IT security best practices (e.g., Zero Trust, EDR, patching, and security policies)
