Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by managing case files, conducting legal research, and preparing documentation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong administrative skills and a passion for law to contribute to a dynamic legal environment. The position requires proficiency in legal research tools, excellent writing and proofreading abilities, and effective project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and UNITY to support case preparation
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including real estate law documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining electronic and physical records
  • Support attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and client meetings through effective project management
  • Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones with professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars
  • Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines through meticulous organization and follow-up

Experience

  • Prior administrative or clerical experience in a legal setting is preferred ( candidate with experience in real estate law will be prioritized)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail for proofreading legal documents
  • Experience with legal drafting, data entry, filing systems, and project management tools
  • Effective interviewing skills and professional phone etiquette are essential for client interactions
  • Being bilingual is an asset ( French / English)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

  • paralegal : 1 year (required)
