POWERGROUP Resources, on behalf of our client AVERTEX Utility Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to join our Orangeville operations team. This role is geared toward the project management and administrative side of construction, while maintaining a consistent field presence to support supervisors and foremen.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success, safety, financial performance, and delivery of assigned projects and serves as the primary point of contact between the company, clients, and stakeholders.

Applicants are expected to work in and out of the Orangeville office. Some out-of-town travel may be required.

What we offer:

  • Salary: $120,000 – $135,000 annually based on skills and experience.

What we need from you:

  • 5+ years of project management or supervisory experience in underground utilities, civil construction, excavating, or related industries
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
  • Solid construction background with the ability to manage schedules and budgets
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Canadian driver's license
  • CET certification is an asset

Role Breakdown

  • ~25% meetings and client coordination
  • ~25% field presence (jobsite readiness, troubleshooting, previews)
  • ~50% project administration, planning, financial control, and coordination

What you will do:

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with AVERTEX's Health & Safety Program and applicable regulations
  • Manage project safety, quality, schedule, scope, and cost
  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate all aspects of construction activities
  • Manage change orders and scope changes as they arise
  • Oversee monthly invoicing and approve job costing for assigned projects
  • Coordinate manpower and equipment requirements with the Operations Manager
  • Resolve project challenges including weather delays, emergencies, and site constraints
  • Secure subcontractors and manage major material procurement
  • Assist with subcontractor contract negotiations
  • Work closely with supervisors and foremen to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions
  • Conduct site visits to ensure projects are ready for crews prior to mobilization
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring foremen and project coordinators
