Job Summary: The Package Handler role is a physical fast-paced and labour-intensive role that involves sorting/packing of boxes, as well as physical loading and unloading them into and out of loading areas, and preparing boxed materials for shipment. This will be a part-time, on-call role. Work as needed, perfect for someone looking for flexible, occasional hours.Responsibilities:

  • Unload and load boxes onto or from delivery vehicles, pallets, storage facilities and loading areas.
  • Updates supervisor(s) on conditions during the sort so operation efficiency decisions can be made.
  • Learn and properly execute established package handling methods.
  • Support supervisor with accurate information to complete inventory records.
  • Sort and label boxes based on shipping information provided.
  • Stack finished boxes in designated areas and/or on skids.

Requirements:

  • As part of this role, you'll be responsible for safely lifting, carrying, and moving boxes weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Warehouse/packing experience is an asset.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Criteria:

  • Must have a reliable method of transportation.
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy and value accountability
