Job Summary

The Metal Shop Clerk is responsible for raw and wip material inventory control, to assist metal shop scheduling paperwork processes, ordering part, preparing requisitions, and supporting the metal shop supervisor and team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of incoming metal orders
  • Perform cycle counts of raw and wip materials
  • Identify products based on drawings and specifications
  • Investigate any inventory discrepancies in the metal shop via ERP system
  • Maintain raw and wip materials inventory accuracy – track materials purchases, consumption, etc. and reconcile
  • Assist with organizing the storage of material to maintain an efficient flow of material in the department
  • Supporting the Production Scheduler with Metal Shop scheduling
  • Assist with tracking of Metal Shop performance metrics
  • Assist with ordering of Metal Shop tooling and MRO supplies
  • Assist with administrative activities to support the Metal Shop Supervisor
  • Maintain and organize filing system for all appropriate documents
  • Suggest solutions for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Experience:

  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with MS Office: Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong administrative experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), backflushing, and material-consumption processes within an ERP system is preferred
  • Post secondary education is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing metal shop is preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and clearly with team and other supervisors and managers
  • Must have ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple tasks with strong personal time management skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well individually and/or as a part of a cross functional team.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
