Visit our website at www.lifebreath.com .Job Summary:Airia Brands Inc. is seeking a highly self-driven, motivated individual to join our team as a Metal Shop Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the successful performance of the team in the metal shop by meeting established operating metrics. The supervisor will be directly responsible for providing metal and other components to company and customer standards and specifications, in a timely and efficient manner. The supervisor will be required to operate various metal shop machines, including CNC turret punch press, CNC brake presses, spot welders, core machines and CNC water jet tables to produce component parts for units. This is a hands-on role which will work collaboratively with other departments and maintain the flow in the metal shop production.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Understand, promote, implement, and adhere to all safety, environment, ergonomic standards, and practices into daily work activities.Ensure the efficient use of labour and equipment and directly responsible for providing strong labour operation and maximizing equipment usage to affect the best possible deliverables.Monitoring, checking, and approving the work of the team ensuring that produced components are of quality in accordance with standards and specifications.If required, participate in the recruiting process of new employees including interviews, hiring process and orientation.Setting up, troubleshoot, monitor and operate several complex machines, including CNC turret punch presses, CNC brake presses, spot welders, core machines (automated production machines) and CNC water-jet tables.Organize training and instruction for the employees to meet the line requirements and highest efficiencies.Maintain 5S standards and ensure operations are within compliance with health and safety standards as required by law.Directly supervise staff and perform daily work audits, prepare regular inventory reports and analyses as required.Monitor, approve and maintain up to date computer records for payroll timecards.Provide regular coaching, performance feedback and effective training to staff for skill development, growth, and performance improvement to encourage and support a high-performance work culture.Support colleagues and work in a team environment to support strategies.Administer disciplinary action, as may be required.Demonstrate continuous improvement in areas of responsibility by reducing process waste.Manage budgets to ensure company goals are achieved.Support and develop shop floor employees including team leaders.Monitor, forecast and maintain manpower based on production requirements.Drive KPI target achievement through regular team reviews and problem-solving activities.All other duties assignedQualifications/Skills/Experience:Completion of post-secondary education in manufacturing management or a related field of study.Minimum 5 years work experience in manufacturing environment in a supervisory position.Must have a thorough understanding of lean manufacturing, production processes and quality control.Must have good reading, writing, analytical and problem-solving skills in or order to discharge responsibilities efficiently and effectively.Must be computer literate and have good working knowledge of MS Excel, calculators and other office equipment.Must have good communication, interpersonal and management skills to be able to direct, manage, motivate and otherwise work effectively with others (i.e., staff, departmental managers); must be able to resolve operational and people problems in a courteous and discrete manner; must be tactful and use good judgement in dealing with people.Excellent supervisory and organizational skills required in coordinating the operations.Must be knowledgeable of proper safety standards and procedures and be proficient in the safe operation of machines and equipment.Must be versatile and be able and willing to perform unrelated tasks as assigned.How to Apply:Applicants are invited to submit their resume by email tohr@airiabrands.com .
