Licensed Practical Nurse

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing dermatology team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of dermatology experience, strong clinical and technical skills, and a passion for patient-centered care.

As a VIDA Dermatology Nurse, you will assist dermatologists with medical, surgical, and cosmetic procedures, provide patient education and support, and help ensure a seamless and exceptional patient experience. This role involves working across both VIDA South and VIDA West clinics in Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dermatologists with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, injections, and laser treatments.
• Conduct patient triage and assessments, collect medical histories, medication lists, and relevant diagnostic information.
• Provide pre- and post-treatment education for both medical and aesthetic procedures.
• Collect, label, and process specimens for pathology or laboratory testing in accordance with VIDA protocols.
• Maintain treatment room readiness, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup between patients.
• Document all clinical care accurately in the MedAccess EMR system.
• Support dermatologists and clinical research staff in clinical trials, including patient screening, data collection, and medication management.
• Assist in developing and maintaining clinical and nursing protocols that align with CPSA and VIDA Dermatology standards.
• Educate patients on skincare, treatment adherence, and medical-grade skincare routines using VIDA's product lines (Vivier, ZO Skin Health, Colorescience, etc.).
• Participate in training and onboarding new nursing and support staff to ensure consistent quality of care.
• Ensure compliance with all infection control, sterilization, and patient safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Active LPN license in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Minimum 2 years of dermatology experience in a medical or aesthetic setting (required).
• Strong understanding of dermatologic and aesthetic procedures, including surgical assistance and patient preparation.
• Excellent knowledge of infection control, sterilization standards, and clinical safety protocols.
• Proficiency with MedAccess EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and patient communication.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
• Interest or experience in aesthetic dermatology, laser treatments, or skincare education is considered a strong asset.
