Project Scheduler
Our client who services the mining industry as a dedicated project and financial partner are seeking a Project Scheduler to join their team on site at their client's location in Sudbury. This is a 12-to-16-month contract opportunity.
We are looking for a Project Scheduler to prepare and manage project baselines (scope, cost and schedule), monitor and report project performance and approve changes throughout.
About the role
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be:
- Accountable and responsible for preparing schedule WBS in line with project scope and project delivery guidelines and validating with Project Directors for sustaining capital and development projects.
- Implement project scheduling processes and identify improvement actions.
- Accountable and responsible for incorporating budgeted hours of each deliverable to project planning and Contractor / Vendor / Supplier schedule to project baseline schedule.
- Review critical path, perform schedule levelling, schedule quality checks and collaborate with respective PMs and project leadership to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Develop templates based on the basis of estimate to share with contractors during the tendering process
- Accountable for staying current with relevant schedule-related documents (e.g., scope document, project charter, project execution plan, cost estimate) and identifying scheduling priorities for the respective project portfolio.
- Accountable for enforcing standard tools and practices in project scheduling and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Review, track, and incorporate (once approved) project cost status, trends, and changes (e.g., design changes, contract & PO changes), ensuring they are reflected in the project budget and forecast.
Qualifications:
- 10 years' experience in project scheduling in the mining industry.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking with strong numerical ability, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, etc.).
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with MS Project
- Primavera 6 experience.
- Preferably: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management Certification, Engineering, Finance or a combination of work and education.
