Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Landscape Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor aesthetics, horticulture, and sustainable design. This role involves collaborating with clients and team members to develop innovative landscape plans that enhance outdoor spaces. Duties

  • Develop comprehensive landscape designs tailored to client specifications, including plant selection, layout, and hardscape features
  • Prepare detailed drawings and presentations using design software
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert recommendations on plantings, irrigation systems, and landscape features
  • Oversee the installation process, ensuring designs are executed accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain and service landscape features using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment such as excavators
  • Implement irrigation systems and ensure proper functioning through regular maintenance
  • Perform gardening tasks including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and pest management
  • Conduct landscape maintenance to preserve aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor environments
  • Coordinate with construction teams for site preparation, grading, and other construction-related activities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in landscape design or related field; degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or similar preferred
  • Strong knowledge of horticulture principles, gardening techniques, and landscape maintenance practices
  • Mechanical knowledge related to irrigation systems, excavators, and construction equipment
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping and construction projects
  • Familiarity with landscape design software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; capable of lifting heavy materials when necessary
