Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with CNC machinery, including CNC lathe and milling machines. This role involves fabricating components based on blueprints and technical drawings, utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. The Fabricator will contribute to the production of high-quality parts and assemblies, supporting our commitment to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement. Candidates with experience in SolidWorks, CAD, and blueprint reading will thrive in this position.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine fabrication requirements.
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with proficiency in programming (Fanuc or similar).
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and calipers to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
- Perform machining tasks with precision, ensuring parts meet specified dimensions using basic math skills.
- Read and interpret measurements accurately using calipers and other measuring instruments.
- Set up and troubleshoot CNC equipment to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards.
- Assist in assembly processes as needed, supporting overall production efficiency.
- Follow lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste and improve workflow.
- Operate forklifts when required for material handling.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments involving machining, welding, or assembly.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation (Fanuc controls preferred).
- Mechanical knowledge of machine operation, tooling, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software for design interpretation is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and translate them into precise fabrications.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, calipers, and measuring devices.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is desirable.
- Prior experience operating forklifts is advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment where technical skills are valued and developed continuously.
