Core responsibilities
- Oversight of Health & Safety activities large producing mine site
- Provide site leadership with ongoing safety performance updates
- H&S Strategical thinking and leadership
- Promote and lead a zero harm work culture
- Coordinate risk management processes
- Health & Safety training and assurance to site employees
- Key stakeholder and regulatory body engagement
- Incident investigation and corrective actions
- Site emergency response, mine rescue, & firefighting systems / programs
Requirements:
- 10+ years health & safety leadership experience in a mining environment
- Health & Safety related qualifications
- Familiar with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
- CRSP designation or actively working towards acquiring it
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene
- Both surface and underground mining experience preferrably
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Mining hazard identification
