As the Design Operations Manager, you partner closely with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization to support the evolution and management of product creation processes, with a specific focus on the inputs and outputs of the Product Creative teams (Design, Colour and Advanced Concepts). You continuously help to identify process improvements that maximize efficiency and enable the Product Creative team in achieving business targets.

This role is based in our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

 

Meet Your Future Team:

The Product Creation Operations team optimizes the intersection of product, supporting through cross-functional teams to improve alignment, communication, and processes around the product. We build a foundation for excellence through reinforcing product strategy with metrics, infrastructure, business processes, best practices, budgeting and reporting.

If you were a Design Operations Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
  • Managing all inputs and outputs of the Product Creative team with relation to the Innovation-to-Consumer (I2C) Calendar, ensuring daily deliverables and ownership are clear
  • Ensuring all I2C deliverables are on time and that any risks or changes are communicated and solutioned with the Product Creation End-to-End Process team
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners to evolve design processes, with emphasis on how the Creative teams plug into the broader end-to-end product creation processes
  • Collaborating with the Product Creation End-to-End Process team to document end-to-end processes
  • Creating, implementing and standardizing team specific and cross-functional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates and process maps
  • Creating and maintaining visual assets that communicate upcoming project milestones and key deliverables
  • Analyzing current business processes and collaborating with users to identify process improvement areas to help maximize efficiency
  • Building and recommending new processes, process flows, tools or systems solutions that are aligned with company goals
  • Building close relationships with the Design, Colour, and Advanced Concepts teams to support change management initiatives and stakeholder engagement
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain

Are you our next Design Operations Manager?
  • You have 5+ years' experience in an operational role (project coordination, product operation, product management, etc.), in a design or apparel industry, with a focus on creative teams
  • You have strong leadership and teamwork skills and you are able to facilitate work across multiple internal departments, and effectively collaborate with our global teams
  • You have a strong understanding of the active apparel market within the outdoor industry, and you are familiar with the key outdoor activities we make products for
  • You are highly analytical and have strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • You have effective and efficient time management skills and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • You have an excellent understanding of the Go-To-Market process
  • You are familiar with the apparel design and development process
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders
  • You have the expert ability to explain, articulate, and document concepts, business processes, systems and business requirements
  • You have confidence in communicating and collaborating amongst large and diverse audiences
  • You have a willingness to improve your skills independently in new technologies and solutions
  • You are proficient in the use of Adobe, Microsoft Office and SmartSheets, or similar project management tools
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

$106,000 - $133,000 a year A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$106,000 - CAD$133,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
