Join our dynamic team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care will shine In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional medical support to our furry patients. You'll work closely with veterinarians, assisting in various procedures and ensuring the highest standards of care. Your expertise will help us create a nurturing environment for animals and their owners alike.
What you'll do
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are ready.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, to aid in accurate diagnoses.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed while monitoring patient recovery.
- Provide excellent animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Uphold aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with team members to promote a positive workplace culture focused on animal welfare.
Basic qualifications
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a solid understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
Preferred qualifications
- Kennel experience that enhances your ability to handle various breeds effectively.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental care.
- Experience in veterinary critical care to manage emergency situations confidently.
- Laboratory experience that equips you with skills in conducting tests accurately.
- Equine experience is a plus for those passionate about working with larger animals.
- Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques for effective treatment administration.
- Knowledge of dog training principles to assist in behavioral assessments.
