Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash handling, and food safety while working in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to standard recipes.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for order processing and cash handling.
  • Assist with food preparation and ensure all food items are handled safely and in compliance with health regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly.
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service.
  • Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and transactions.
  • Help train new staff members on food service procedures and equipment usage.

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons.
  • Experience operating an Espresso machine and making high-quality coffee and non-coffee drinks with consistency and efficiency.
  • Experience in food service is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in operating POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling safety standards.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being self-motivated.
