Job description

Springwood Animal Hospital is seeking a confident, passionate, detail oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our growing facility. The ideal person works well in a team environment as well as individually. Avimark experience is an asset. Wage determined by experience and proficiency.

We are offering a Full-Time position that requires availability to work mornings or evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:

  • Surgical Prep/Assisting
  • Administering care to in house and hospitalized patients under Veterinarian/Technician direction.
  • Restraint of Cats and Dogs- A must skill to have
  • Daily upkeep of the clinic
  • Answering phone calls and client questions
  • Use of Avimark to book appointments, invoicing, make estimates etc.
  • Assisting clients
  • Handling and packaging of lab samples (Blood, Urine and Fecal Samples) and In House Laboratory Work
  • Helping in the day to day aspects of the veterinary clinic

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 Year experience in a Veterinary Clinic/Hospital
  • Proficient computer skills; Using Excel, Microsoft, proficiency with Avimark a bonus.
