About SuOn Academy

SuOn Academy is an Ontario-registered private high school (BSID# offering Ontario curriculum credit courses to both local and international students. We are dedicated to supporting students in achieving strong academic outcomes and preparing for university pathways. Our school provides a wide range of academic support services for students.

We are currently seeking two qualified High School Mathematics Teachers to join our Academic Support Department.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will teach mathematics courses following the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum, including:

  • Grade 9 Mathematics (MTH1W)
  • Grade 10 Academic Mathematics (MPM2D)
  • Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U)
  • Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U)
  • Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)

Instruction will take place on campus or online in small groups or classroom settings.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Ontario high school mathematics courses using approved curriculum materials
  • Prepare lessons, review student work, and provide academic feedback
  • Support students with course-related questions and exam preparation
  • Maintain a positive and professional learning environment
  • Collaborate with school staff regarding student progress as needed
  • Participate in occasional academic meetings or training sessions

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Education, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Ontario Grades 9–12 mathematics curriculum
  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain concepts effectively
  • Responsible, punctual, and professional in conduct

Preferred:

  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level
  • Experience supporting diverse learners, including international students
  • OCT certification (asset but not required)
