Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Sheet Metal Install Helper/Apprentice to join our Commercial HVAC Division at Postma Heating & Cooling, Plumbing, Electrical. In this role, you'll assist experienced installers in fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components on commercial projects. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop a long-term career in the skilled trades while learning from a professional, safety-focused, and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation and assembly of sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and HVAC components according to project specifications.
• Support the lead installer with material handling, measurements, and layout preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
• Learn to read blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions under supervision.
• Follow all company safety procedures and participate in on-site safety meetings.
• Collaborate with crew members, project managers, and other trades to ensure efficient job completion.
• Take initiative to learn and grow into a skilled sheet metal installer.

Qualifications:

• Some experience in construction, HVAC, or sheet metal work is an asset, but training will be provided.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position materials safely and work in varying site conditions.
• Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Enrollment in or willingness to register for an HVAC apprenticeship program is an asset.
