About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing design team. The successful candidate will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for a variety of projects including multi-unit residential, commercial, institutional, retail, and industrial buildings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical design, project leadership, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead junior staff in designing electrical and associated systems for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies using SKM PowerTools.
  • Conduct lighting calculations and design using AGI32.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, mechanical engineers, and other design team members to ensure integrated and code-compliant designs.
  • Review and seal drawings, provide construction administration, and perform site reviews as required.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Canadian Provinces (NS, NB, NFLD, PEI and Ont.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of building electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power*Tools, and AGI32 considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable building codes.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and project management skills
