Mobile Diagnostic Veterinary Sonographer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Sonographer to join our growing mobile veterinary team. The Sonographer will be responsible for acquiring diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist clinicians in diagnosing and treating small animals. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency in medical terminology. The ideal candidate will contribute to accurate diagnoses by producing high-quality images and providing exceptional patient support throughout the imaging process.
Responsibilities
- Travel independently between clinic locations as scheduled.
- Perform mobile abdominal and cervical ultrasound examinations at client hospitals in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring their comfort by practicing fear-free, low-stress handling at all times.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture detailed images and cine loops suitable for radiologist interpretation.
- Analyze images/cines for clarity and diagnostic quality, making adjustments as necessary.
- Complete required documentation, reports and administrative tasks related to each study.
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Collaborate with clinicians and other veterinary professionals to assist in diagnosis.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment in good working order and report technical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Certification or licensure as a Sonographer from an accredited program / other.
- Proven experience in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to clinicians.
- Compassionate approach with a focus on patient comfort and care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
