The Opportunity

Innovate and Lead – In this role, you'll work at the forefront of SR&ED strategy within a Transportation Systems team that spans Rail & Transit, Aviation, Ports, Marine & Coastal, and Transit Bus & Fleet. You'll shape how complex technical advancements are recognized, defended, and documented, helping project teams secure critical innovation funding while enabling truly transformational infrastructure work across Canada.

Your Impact

  • Lead the full SR&ED delivery process for Transportation Systems initiatives, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and clarity in all claim components.
  • Uncover eligible R&D activity by facilitating deep‑dive technical interviews and guiding engineering leaders in articulating technological challenges and advancements.
  • Develop high‑quality, defensible SR&ED technical narratives that clearly demonstrate uncertainty, experimentation, and innovation.
  • Represent clients with confidence during CRA technical reviews, responding to questions, defending eligibility, and supporting successful outcomes.
  • Build and optimize SR&ED documentation frameworks that strengthen compliance, consistency, and audit readiness across all Transportation Systems business lines.
  • Identify complementary non‑dilutive funding opportunities and help structure multi‑program funding strategies.
  • Collaborate with the national WSP SR&ED team to harmonize best practices, training, and corporate‑level compliance tools.
  • Drive a meeting‑focused, engagement‑rich process—leading discussions, asking the right questions, and helping teams articulate the real technical depth in their work.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, paired with hands‑on experience solving complex technical challenges.
  • 5+ years of direct SR&ED delivery experience, including successful claims and CRA review support.
  • Deep working knowledge of CRA SR&ED policy, eligibility guidelines, and tax legislation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, software, environmental, digital, or AI‑related SR&ED pathways.
  • Proven ability to translate advanced technical work into concise, high‑impact narratives.
  • Skilled at managing senior technical stakeholders and guiding them through structured eligibility discussions.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable navigating fast‑paced engineering environments.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative—with the ability to lead, influence, and foster strong relationships.
