About the Role

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives on hands-on work and making a real impact? We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to take ownership of critical financial operations across multiple related companies. In this role, you'll ensure accuracy, support compliance, and provide reliable financial reporting that directly influences business decisions.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role where your expertise and initiative will be valued. Bilingual (English/French) skills are strongly preferred to effectively manage operations in both Ontario and Quebec.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Maestro for multiple related companies
  • Full-cycle processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Processing payments, preparing bank deposits, and recording expenses
  • Posting journal entries and assisting with general ledger adjustments
  • Support month-end close and assist in the preparation of financial statements
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as required
  • Ensure compliance with HST/GST/QST regulations
  • Follow financial controls and internal procedures closely
  • Keep reconciliations, contracts, and accounting records organized and accessible
  • Provide administrative support as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience in Ontario and Quebec, including AP, AR, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Strong experience with accounting systems and intercompany transactions
  • Bilingual (English/French) strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple detailed tasks effectively
  • Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive financial information
  • Basic understanding of Canadian tax, reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in small teams or independently managing accounting processes is an advantage

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
