If you are passionate about a career in hospitality and want to join a team that shares this common goal, The Barrington is presently seeking a Maintenance Technician.Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel's physical assets, including guest rooms, public spaces, mechanical systems, and other facilities. The role ensures that the hotel meets safety standards, operates efficiently, and provides an excellent experience for guests.As Maintenance Technician, you'll be: Responding to fire alarms, intrusion alarms, electrical failures, water leaks, property damage etc;Recording mechanical, electrical and water readings and on occasion resetting a building system when requested by the Employer;Touring common areas and keeping areas free of individuals soliciting;Responsible for general presentation and maintaining the development in a first-class manner, including ensuring building safety, using their own judgement or as directed by Employer;Attending to guest inquiries and maintenance requests;Coordinating, reviewing and managing of parking, parking allocation, enforcement and revenue collecting as required;Involved in coordinating and delivering guest services and amenities;Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient completion of duties;Providing excellent customer service by efficiently responding to tenant concerns;Investigating, diagnosing and repairing general maintenance issues as required;Conducting daily building inspections to ensure building systems are operating, no safety hazards are evident, and the site is clean;Performing required preventative maintenance activities as assigned;Working with subcontractors to maintain key building systems – elevators, fire alarms, sprinklers, etc;Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.What we are looking for: Proven experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or related field;Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems;Leadership and team management skills;Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently;Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities;Ability to pass a clear criminal background check;Strong communication and interpersonal skills;Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices;Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively;Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) may be required;Experience working in Food & Beverage environments is considered an asset.Physical Requirements: Ability to Lift up to 50lbs individuallyAbility to Lift >50lbs with another person(s)Standing and walking for extended periods of timeRepetitive bendingClimbing / work from laddersWorking overheadCrouching / kneeling for extended periods of timeWhy Join Us?Access to gym and fitness facilitiesAccess to education reimbursement and scholarship programs (for employees and family members)Eligible for referral programsOpportunity to participate in employer-sponsored retirement savings planComprehensive extended health, dental, and vision benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramBe part of a high-performing teamSupportive culture that values service, teamwork, and continuous learningOur commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are an inclusive company, and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
