About the Opportunity:
HireNow Staffing is working on behalf of a long-established public accounting firm with deep roots across the Greater Hamilton and Niagara regions. We are searching for an experienced Tax Manager ready to step into a highly visible leadership role that blends hands-on tax expertise with strategic advisory support for a diverse client portfolio.

What You'll Do:
Lead and review the preparation of personal, corporate, trust, estate, and partnership tax returns
Provide strategic tax planning services to privately held businesses, individuals, and family-owned enterprises
Guide corporate reorganizations, succession planning efforts, and tax implications of M&A transactions
Act as a technical resource for tax updates, foreign reporting obligations, and CRA correspondence
Participate in client meetings, deliver customized tax solutions, and identify new advisory opportunities
Mentor and manage a team of 8 professionals, offering guidance on workflow, deadlines, and career development
Collaborate across departments and locations to ensure tax compliance and advisory services are delivered with excellence
What We're Looking For:
CPA designation (CPA, CA) in good standing
Minimum of 5 years in public practice, with at least 2 years focused on tax
Enrolled in or willing to pursue the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or Master of Taxation (MTax)
Advanced understanding of Canadian tax law and compliance frameworks
Familiarity with cross-border and foreign reporting requirements
Previous experience working on M&A tax structures, family trust strategies, or corporate succession plans
Demonstrated leadership in managing client relationships and developing junior staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in client-friendly terms
Experience working with the CRA and provincial tax authorities is a plus
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 CAD (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus potential
Work Setting: Hybrid flexibility across Hamilton, Burlington, and St. Catharines offices
