Position Summary:
The Cleaner/Janitor will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the manufacturing facility, offices, and common areas. This role is crucial to supporting operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Cleaning: Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, windows and other surfaces, scrubbing floors in production areas, warehouses, and offices.
- Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels), and ensure proper hygiene standards are met.
- Waste Management: Empty trash bins, recycling containers, and dispose of waste following established company procedures, including handling and disposal of non-hazardous production waste.
- Common Area Upkeep: Clean and tidy lunchrooms, break areas, conference rooms, and locker rooms.
- Safety & Organization: Clean up spills and debris promptly to prevent slip-and-fall hazards. Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and properly.
- Inventory: Monitor and report the need for cleaning supply replenishment to the supervisor.
- Equipment Care: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers and buffers, in a safe and proper manner.
- Adherence to Standards: Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and completing basic reports
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a custodial, janitorial, or cleaning role, preferably within a commercial or industrial setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs.), and perform repetitive cleaning tasks for the duration of a shift.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong attention to detail.
- Safety Conscious: Knowledge of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Communication: Basic ability to read and understand written work instructions and safety signs.
Working Conditions:
- This role involves working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to moderate noise, varying temperatures, and possible dust/fumes (within safe limits, with proper PPE).
