Primary Responsibilities:

• Use of handheld tools such as grinders and wire wheels
• Deburring in the fabrication shop, including smoothing rough edges and ridges
• Use of handheld and functional gauges to ensure product quality when required
• Inspecting parts as per the final product verification (FPV) and work order instructions
• Packaging and allocating parts as per standard work instructions
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area using the principles of 5S
• Adherence to the company's policy and procedures
• Working in a fast-paced environment
• Work in assembly department, moving parts, boxing and packaging supplies
• Loading and unloading production parts with the jib crane using attachments such as magnets, nylon slings, chain slings, and hooks

Educational Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school or equivalent
• Prior experience in manufacturing environment in an asset

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Safety and quality conscious
• High attention to detail
• Experience in manufacturing environment is an asset
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instruction
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Dedicated, reliable and able to work as a team player

Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:

• Able to use grinders, jib cranes and related lifting attachment, and handheld equipment that may be necessary to the job, such as grinders, sanders and other hand held tools.
• Follow written instructions when completing a work order to barcode production

Physical Demands:

• Lifting – not more that 25 pounds; lifting devices available.
• Standing – 60% of the time outside of breaks and lunches.
• Sitting – 40% of the time, doing bench work
• Bending - occasional
• Walking - frequent
• Crouching - occasional
• Stooping – frequent
• Climbing – not required.
• Crawling – not required.
• Kneeling – occasional
• Pushing – limited up to 50 lbs lifting devices available.
• Pulling – limited up to 50 lbs lifting devices available.
• Carrying – no more than 25 pounds
• Reaching (vertical and horizontal) – occasional
• Handling – required dexterity for manual holding of tools and air guns for frequent periods of time
