The Cultural Coordinator is based out of the Wahkohtowin program with Phoenix Residential Society but provides connection to Indigenous cultural supports and organizes and facilitates cultural activities for staff and residents throughout all programs within the agency. They are responsible or organizing and facilitating groups, activities, and education for both staff and residents. As time permits, they are able to work 1 on 1 with residents at Wahkohtowin Program, or other programs within the agency, to provide support and guidance, or to connect individuals to supports available in the community. The Indigenous Cultural Coordinator will either have a network of connections they can rely on within the community, or the ability to create this network. The Indigenous Cultural Coordinator is also expected to provide guidance and leadership to the Phoenix Truth and Reconciliation committee. The Cultural Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and documentation and reports to the Director of Operations.

Understanding and experience working with Individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, cognitive disabilities, physical health challenges, and/or homelessness is an asset. An understanding of Harm Reduction is required, and the ability to provide creative supports to those actively using substances is an asset. Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with teams, residents, and other community organizations is required. Understanding/knowledge of traditional Indigenous practices, ceremonies, etc. is required.

Qualifications: a combination of some experience and some post-secondary education. Preference will be given to candidates self-identifying as Indigenous. Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's license and a valid First Aid/CPR certificate.

Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.79-$29.54 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
