Project Controls Specialist

Atlantica is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controls Specialist in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Project Controls Specialist plays an integral role in monitoring cost control measures on assigned projects. Working closely with the project management team, finance, and clients, the Project Controls Specialist is accountable for creating cost control procedures, tracking project process, and delivering reports and budget updates for assigned projects.

Equipped with leading-edge technologies, Atlantica's highly skilled workforce executes a wide range of mechanical and electrical construction projects from design and fabrication to fire protection and maintenance services throughout a building's life cycle to provide customized solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities:- Cost Control
- Establish Project Control budget and objective progress measurement system.
- Implement approved cost control procedures for each assigned project.
- Participate in project management reviews and provide support to Project Managers as required.
- Actively manage changes to scope and cost using the ERP and Project Controls software.
- Notify management if specific projects are not meeting the expected cost performance.
- Ensure cost control coding structure is aligned with project control schedule and contract requirements.
Ensure accurate costing is recorded to appropriate cost code.
Contract Management
- Ensure any subcontract or services contracts are properly administered and invoicing is in line with how Atlantica is to invoice client.
- Participate in contract related meetings
- Reporting
- Support with Revenue Forecasting
- Spearhead production of weekly and monthly reports including productivity reports, forecasts, etc. to influence project to achieve targets.
- Ensure project dashboards and other reports are issued on time, accurate and in a consistent format to meet project deadlines.
- Work with Project Managers to produce WIP reports
- Provide ad-hoc reports as required
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Engineering or Commerce degree of equivalent combination education and experience
- 5+ years' experience in a construction related industry with specific experience in project management, cost control and planning
- Knowledge of the project management cycle.
- Experience in project planning and project control including project execution and estimating.
- Detailed knowledge of cost control, cost forecasting and project scheduling
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Accounting Software and Project Planning software
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Positive collaborative work style and the ability to work well within a multi-discipline team
- Permanent, Full Time
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
