Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from beginning to end. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management in the commercial mechanical industry, possess technical expertise and possess excellent communication and leadership skills. Must have a proven track record for managing construction projects up to $10 million dollars.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all on-site construction activities
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule
- Supervise and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to workers and clients
- Monitor and report on project progress to stakeholders
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other specialists
- Manage daily workflows and workforce to ensure no bottlenecks
Skills & Qualifications
- Must have in depth knowledge of the mechanical trade
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven problem solving skills
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to optimize and engage workforce capacity
- Extensive experience using project management principles and workflows
- Proficient in construction estimating and project scheduling
- Experience with Microsoft office and construction management software
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Candidate must have a clean driving record and access to a vehicle
- May need to travel within Nova Scotia
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of 10 years in a similar role in the mechanical industry
- Experience working on commercial projects up to $10 million
- PM certification and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Infectious control training an asset
- Must qualify for Government of Canada Security clearance
