Barista/Customer Service

Our Lina's Italian Market is looking to add a new barista to our amazing team The Barista operates and maintains the espresso machine; handcrafting beverages for both staff and guests while maintaining consistent and quality products. The Barista will be required to serve items from the pastry case, hot line, salads as well as operate a till depending on the flow of business, and as determined by on duty management.
Position Responsibilities
Below is an overview of the main responsibilities for the Barista, broken into the three main category areas.
_ Service and Sales_
- Act as an ambassador for Lina's Market and smile, greet, and serve all guests.
-Build rapport with guests and encourages return visits
-Accurately prioritize needs of guests and servers/management
-Prepare espresso drinks, according to recipes and beverage standards at all times
-Effectively prioritizes needs of bar guests, servers and management
-Accurately and efficiently uses POS system
-Enhance guest experience through beverage and service excellence
- General
-Follow opening and closing procedures, Ability to calibrate coffee grinder, Accurately handle cash and balancing of daily till, Assist in covering breaks and other duties
Inventory, Kitchen, and Policies
Control product and ingredient quality, Maintain the cleanliness of the espresso bar throughout their shift, Maintain stock levels of espresso bar and related products, Assist management team with inventory controls, Maintain up to date product knowledge of all food and drink served, Act as a resource for staff and management regarding drink selection, Understand and adheres to the Dress Code Policy, Understand and adheres to the Company Code of Conduct, Understand and adheres to the Company Food Safety/Handling Practices
* Bartending experience is an asset - 1 year of experience preferred.
