Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated engineer in training to join our team as we develop SKAA into a global compatibility standard for wireless audio.

This is an exciting and challenging position where you will be contributing directly to our flagship hardware R&D. At Eleven new hires are given a chance to make real technical contributions immediately. You will also have an opportunity to advance and possibly work in other technical fields including firmware development, microprocessor design, FAE, IC development, and RF design.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience reading and developing electronic schematics
  • Experience in embedded development, including microcontroller programming, prototyping circuits, and interfacing with hardware.
  • Experience developing with C++ (experience with C and assembly language will also be considered).
  • Familiarity with basic communications in embedded (UART, I2C, SPI, high-level grasp of wireless is an asset).
  • Familiarity with Altium design suite is an asset
  • Experience working with source control and git is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

The primary role of the Research & Development Hardware Engineer is to develop hardware using Eleven Engineering's proprietary microcontroller XInC2. The Research & Development Hardware Engineer will design schematics and PCBAs for Eleven Engineering's customer projects (consumer electronics), and internal projects.

The Research & Development Hardware Engineer will work closely with Firmware Development Engineers to build elegant, efficient, and cost effective solutions. They will also be expected to develop a tight communication loop with both quality assurance staff and end customers to ensure that all shipped products are as stable as possible.

The Research & Development Hardware Engineer will provide hardware support to Field Applications staff. Depending on the candidate's aptitude for embedded firmware, the candidate may also be asked to provide basic firmware support to customers, and aid the firmware R&D team with firmware tasks as needed.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

BSc. in Engineering, with a strong preference towards Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering.

Depending on prior experience, BSc. in Computer Science or related disciplines may also be considered.

Registration with APEGA as a P.Eng or E.I.T.
