North Ridge Development Corporation, Saskatchewan's leading home builder, is seeking a full-time Senior Estimator to join our Saskatoon team. Must be a resident of Saskatchewan and be legally able to work in Canada.

The Senior Estimator will support our Drafting & Estimating department with the organization, distribution, and maintenance of project documents in relation to residential construction projects. This is a fast-paced role that will offer variety and opportunity to the successful candidate. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of residential construction, and will be driven, self-starters, and highly organized. The following is a description of the primary responsibilities and required qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Prepare complete and accurate budgets/estimates for single-family and multi-family projects

· Work to mitigate all potential risk, from project tender through start of and through to construction completion.

· Coordination (organization, distribution, and maintenance) of project documents including tender documents, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, bids, and change orders.

· Negotiate material prices and subcontracts to maximize value and schedule.

· Manage and maintain estimating database

· Assist department members in interpreting and using technical information

· Work with Managers of Design, Estimating, Sales, and Construction to produce and maintain an up-to-date categorized list of material suppliers, pricing and qualified subcontractors and consultants.

· Work with Site Supervisors to manage performance of and maintain good relationships with subcontractors.

· Work directly with the Project Manager in bidding/tendering process

· Daily communication with members of Sales, Estimating, Construction, and Drafting departments.

· Daily communication with subtrades and suppliers.

· Identify and resolve problems/issues in an effective and timely manner, always keeping the customer in mind.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

· Minimum 3 to 5 years of direct experience overseeing cost estimating

· A diploma in Building Engineering Technology or equivalent education

· Working knowledge of the construction industry

· Experience and understanding of floor plans, construction details and specifications.

· Working knowledge of current building codes and local municipal bylaws & regulations.

· Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.

· Strong computer and technology skills.

· Experience using builder/estimating software is an asset

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organization and multi-tasking skills.

· Detail-oriented focus.

· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
