Job Description
The Director of Finance will be a pivotal member of the Finance Leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role will encompass oversight of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and financial shared services, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. The candidate will play a key role in providing senior leadership support to the IFS program team. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced accounting and finance professional, ideally with extensive experience in manufacturing or related industries.
Responsibilities
- Lead the corporate accounting and financial reporting function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
- Oversee financial shared services, ensuring efficient processing of customer invoices, receipts, vendor invoices, and payments.
- Lead the stabilization and optimization of the IFS Cloud ERP system, including communication, training, and change management efforts.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance cross-functional processes and systems impacting finance.
- Implement productivity tools and automation software to improve shared services efficiency and eliminate manual data entry.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the Finance team, aligned with the company's core values.
- Define and implement Service Level Agreements for financial shared services, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon service levels.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls within the ERP system to safeguard financial data.
- Manage, develop, and mentor staff, monitoring performance and providing leadership and technical training.
- Act as the key point of contact for the annual financial audit, collaborating with internal and external auditors.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to drive business objectives.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in accounting/finance leadership roles.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting, audit, and financial management principles.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven leadership abilities with strong communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in analytics and automation tools, including Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
- Experience with ERP software, particularly IFS Cloud, is highly preferred.
- Experience in aerospace is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a chaotic and ever-changing environment.
- Proven leadership in Shared Services (AR/AP).
- Ability to build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams.
The position is based in a dynamic and collaborative environment with a team size of approximately 30. Directors are provided with underground parking. The company encourages a flexible and engaged workforce, offering 4 weeks of vacation after 6 months, with a 4% matching contribution option, and the ability to contribute up to 14%. Benefits are 100% employer-paid for employees and their families. The role requires adaptability to operate under limited direction and within a setting where not all processes are in place.
